State Farm has launched a Distracted Driving Awareness Campaign ~ A few seconds can change everything!

Distracted driving is preventable - and it increases crash risk fast. Safety research indicates that taking your eyes off the road for just 2 seconds can double your crash risk. Texting takes about 4.6 seconds on average; at 55 mph, that’s roughly the length of a football field traveled with eyes off the road. Research also associates texting while driving with a 23× higher likelihood of a safety‐critical event.

How can you reduce distraction?

• Enable Do Not Disturb while driving

• Set navigation and music before you drive

• Pull over safely if you must read or respond

A few details about me: I’ve been happily married for nearly 40 years, and I'm a proud parent and

grandparent. My wife and I feel fortunate to call Vermilion home and love being a part of this

community. I'm involved in various groups and initiatives, including Operation Christmas Joy and

Main Street Vermilion. In 2023, I was named Vermilion Township Resident of the Year.

As a second-generation State Farm agent, I’ve dedicated myself to carrying on a legacy of helping my Good Neighbors find reliable coverage that suits their needs.
